Domain Central
Domain Central is a Domain Console for managing all your domains. From here you can reserve a new domain and add it to your account. You can also group your domains for ease of maintenance. You can make bulk edits to selected domains such as enabling privacy for all or editing contact information for all.
Registering a domain name
In the Reserve a New Domain Name box, enter the domain name you want to register, and then click Check Domain Name. The status of the name you entered displays to show the ones available. But I don’t recommend you register domain through Fatcow! Reasons are as follows:
- FatCow is a professional webhosting company, not Domain Name Registrar.
- They offer you Domain Privacy Services for $8.99 per year, but name.com offers FREE.
- You could buy a .INFO domain for only $1.99.In fact, many Domain Registers offer lower price than FatCow, to say nothing of .com,.net,.org etc.
Domain Pointing Manager
FatCow domain manager can help you determine your domains point to a specified directory or subdirectory. There are four different types of pointers:
- Home Directory - your domain points to the main directory of your hosting account
- Sub Directory - your domain points to a specified subdirectory of your hosting account
- URL - your domain points to a URL outside your hosting account.
- Domain parking - your domain is unreachable.
Addon domains
Addon domains make it possible to host unlimited sites with the same hosting account. It needs a sub directory within your main web hosting directory but can show a different web site. In fact Addon domains consist of two steps:
- 1.Contact your domain’s Registrar and ask them to change your domain nameservers to:ns1.fatcow.com
ns2.fatcow.com
- 2.Enter the domain name in Domain Pointing Manager, the Add New Domain Pointer section.
